Samini is just a man with attractive lips but not my type - Stephanie Benson

UK-based Ghanaian singer and performer Stephanie Benson has debunked rumours suggesting she dated musician Samini.

According to her, Samini is a very attractive guy and despite them kissing on some occasions, he is not the type of man she would love to date.

Speaking in an interview on the Delay Show, Stephanie Benson said, “Samini is just a good looking man with attractive lips but he isn’t my type. My husband is my type of man.”

She said the perception that Black women who marry White men always cheat on their husbands is untrue as she has never cheated on her husband in their 29-year marriage.

When asked whether her husband has no issues with her provocative style of dressing and the way she carries herself, Stephanie Benson retorted, “He knows that whatever I come back home to him. 29 years I’ve been married to him, I’ve never cheated on him.”

No DR Congo elections 'until April 2019' - Electoral Commission

Elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo cannot be held until at least April 2019, the electoral commission has said.

But in a statement, the commission said it would need at least 504 days to organise the poll once voter registration was completed.

This flies in the face of an agreement between President Joseph Kabila and the opposition – mediated by the Catholic Church – for elections to take place before the end of the year.

Elections were originally scheduled for November 2016 – and cancelled by the electoral commission citing logistical and financial difficulties.

This meant that President Joseph Kabila stayed on beyond his legal mandate.

Dozens of people died in protests.

According to the Reuters news agency, unrest in the Kasai region has delayed the registration process.

Nana Addo is more 'youthful' in brain than Mahama - Attefah

A communications team member with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Emmanuel Danso Attefah says President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is youthful in the brain than former President John Dramani Mahama. He said the former president exhibited extreme incompetence during his tenure.

''Nana is humble, nationalistic, and a doer,. He is affable and a man of timber and calibre. I always say that Nana Addo is more youthful in the brain that Mahama because he is very youth centered. He thinks more about the youth. All his policies affects the youth of Ghana more,'' he said.

The economic situation under the NDC was terribly bad but Nana Addo has shown that, his policies will keep the economy on track.

He said, all the social intervention programmes enjoyed by Ghanaians were rolled out by the NPP including the school feeding, free maternal healthcare which was destroyed by the incompetent NDC.

Ghana he said will work again under the current president who has delivered on his major campaign promises including the free senior high school policy, the restoration of the nursing allowance among others.

He added, the cancellation under the former president was unwise and the reasons assigned to it were needless and unfortunate.

The cancellation he noted brought untold hardship on trainee nurses and that also caused their defeat. The argument that the cancellation increased intake he stressed was illogical and an after thought.

He said, the NPP government is committed and will not do things anyhow.

The president is very committed and will not fail in delivering on his campaign promises.

Atomic Junction explosions: Deaths recorded, PRESEC Boys evacuated, houses burnt

Homes have been evacuated and students of Presbyterian Boys Secondary School (PRESEC) at Legon have been moved from campus to safety as their lives are threatened by fire spreading as a result of a gas explosion.
There were two massive explosions at Madina Atomic Junction Saturday evening.
Huge ball of fire went up immediately after residents heard a loud sound of explosion in the area.

.DEATHS

“Unfortunately we have recorded some deaths,” Deputy Information Minister Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah confirmed to TV3.
Report suggests one of the deceased might have fallen from the overpass.
The injured are however responding to treatment at “three health facilities”, he said, noting that the extent of damage would be known on Sunday.
Several properties were up in flames with many fearing the explosion could be fatal.
Many people were seen running helter-skelter from their homes. Commuters heading towards the area were accordingly advised to be cautious.
Several casualties have been reported as vehicles are seen rushing injured people to hospital.
Officials of the Ghana National Fire Service are at the scene frantically battling the raging fire. A Total fuel station affected by the inferno has totally been burnt down.
Unofficial report says the explosion was caused by a naked fire used to grill meat near the gas station.
The situation has been brought under control with heavy security presence there.
Deputy spokesperson of the Fire Service, Prince Billy Anaglatey told TV3 seven fire engines are assisting to prevent any further explosion as they “cool” any combustible item around.
Though he said his outfit was yet to find any fatality or record casualty, there have been
“considerable damage” to properties including vehicles.

VERY WORRYING

Prof. Alex Dodoo, Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Standards Authority, told Issah Monnie on TV3 that his outfit together with the National Petroleum Authority and local authorities would take immediate steps to stop the indiscriminate sitting of fuel stations in residential areas.
He described the Atomic Junction explosion as a “very worrying situation” which should not happen again.
Some students of PRESEC and University of Ghana have shared their experiences with TV3. What has been running through their statements is that the incident was very terrifying.

MORE AGGRESSIVE

Abu Ramadan, Deputy NADMO Coordinator told the media his outfit is going to employ a “more aggressive mood” to enforce the laws in this country.
He commended the response of the Ghana Fire Service in dousing the fire as “Fantastic”.
PRESIDENT WORRIED
He said the presence of the Inspector General Police, NADMO officials, Interior and National Security Ministers at the site of explosion shows that the “president is worried about the situation”.
SUE
Kofi Kapito head of Consumer Protection Agency is urging Ghanaians to “start suing” state officials to keep those in authority on their toes to avert preventable disaster.
